Electrics Before having any plastering carried out have a think about whether you could use a few extra plug sockets or whether you will be changing any light fittings etc. Get this done first this way you will avoid any making good at a latter stage. If you are having a new kitchen or bathroom installed try to get any plasterwork carried out before installation takes place. It`s very difficult plastering above and around Kitchen cupboards, the same applies to bathroom suites not to mention the chance of damage. Do you plan on changing your skirting boards? If so they should be removed prior to plastering , if you decide to remove them after any plasterwork has taken place you will in-cure damage to the new plaster. Also decide whether you are going to change your old curtain fixings, sometimes there is a length of wood nailed or screwed to your walls so that the curtains can be fixed to it . Are you going to keep this? if not this should be removed. Although we supply dust sheets it`s best if at all possible to move any furniture or ornaments away from the work site, the more room the better! Alternatively maybe you could cover expensive furniture in some cheap plastic sheeting. Relatively small jobs can take as long as bigger jobs as you still have to wait for the plaster to set so this reflects on the price. Radiators If you are considering having a room skimmed you will get much better results with the plastering if the rads are removed. You can leave the brackets on as we can plaster around these.Once dry you will be able to paint these areas easily then the radiators can be reinstalled.
